[E]lgeeko, a NI forum member created a VI to interface with the ez430-Chronos watch. The Chronos receiver creates a virtual serial com port on a PC. Using the NI VISA serial library, its very simple to create VIs to talk to the watch. As a test, [E]lgeeko created the following projects:
- Simple accelerometer data graphing
- Advanced accelerometer data graphing
- Theramin emulator

It’s stuff like this that make me want a Chronos so much more.
If LabVIEW was less expensive (even the student edition is a bit of money) I might write up a nice post on interfacing it with the LaunchPad. I personally am not too big of a fan even though I respect how useful LabVIEW can be. Great idea from Elgeeko, LabVIEW allows for rapid development. For those of you who don’t know what LabVIEW is, it is a visual programming environment from National Instruments. It’s used all throughout the industry for all sorts of applications.
could you place a version compiled (saved in) labview 2009 or 8.6 format?
You could ask it in the NI forum thread.
