[M]ike over from Non-Lexical Vocables has an nice writeup on a simple project using the Launchpad. He used it to sort out two nagging questions:

  • The temperature profile in the refrigerator.
  • Does the light go out after you close the door?

His setup consists of two analog channels reading the temperature and a phototransistor. The phototransistor circuit is based off a voltage divider network. A BlueSmirf radio connects to the Launchpad’s UART TX pin and to a PC  via Bluetooth. All his data is graphed out through a simple Labview application.

….and yes, the light does go off when you close the refrigerator door. [M]ike also has a good comparison between the MSP430G2231 and the ATTiny24. Make sure to check it out and leave a comment.
