This week seems to be SensorTag week. A new Wi-Fi Tag is joining the sensor tag family! TI’s page shows the Wi-Fi version greyed out with “Coming Soon!” across it. The Tag will be based around the CC3200 wireless microcontroller, which can also be found on the CC3200 Launchpad.
The three new DevPacks that were released this week might be compatible with the Wi-Fi version. The Debug DevPack shows some mention of the CC3200 in its schematic.
Comparison between the SensorTag2 and Wi-Fi SensorTag
We’ll update you as soon as there is more information on the Wi-Fi sensor tag. You may subscribe using the box on the right hand corner.
Not bad, not bad. I’ll only be concerned about power. What kind of batteries are on this sensor tag?
The right sensor tag definitely seems larger than the BLE tag. Maybe a bigger battery?
Any idea on price? If this is priced close to the CC3200 Launchpad, I might spring for this. With the debug devpack, this will make a nice remote station.
Hi Mike, none as yet. I’ll update the Blog as soon as I get any information.
Cool! What is the beaglebone gateway?
